Retired from the Postal Service, Pete is a humble man and, by his own admission, isn’t very interesting. Unless, being the only person who knows his wife’s dead, is interesting.
But Pete has that mess under control. His biggest problem right now is his mysterious neighbor, Tammy, who moved into the double-wide across the street around the time his wife died. The only explanation for Tammy’s odd hours and steady procession of visitors is that Tammy sells meth. And the sheriff seems to be doing nothing about it.
When two young men go missing, similar to the six young women who went missing a few years back, Pete knows Tammy is the reason and, by golly, he’s going to do something about it.
Then he’ll probably write a country song about it, which he’ll debut it at the Petunia Festival where under cover agents are in search of the missing persons. When they hear his songs, he becomes a suspect, much to the delight of his nemesis, Sheriff Jones.
Even the cast of his colorful friends, many with clout in their small county, might not be able to get Pete out of this one.
